More Police Officers Canvey Island, Rayleigh and Rochford
Essex Police have announced that there are to be SIX new officers added to Castle Point and Rochford Community Policing Team.
Reducing Crime in Rayleigh, Rochford and Canvey Town Centres
From Monday 22 July, six new officers will allow the creation of an extra shift. This means that officers will be able to be more visible in their patrols and engagement.
It’s all part of an initiative by Essex Police which will see 58 Town Centre Team constables assigned across the county. This includes five more officers in Southend and a redeployment of 8 officers in Basildon, Billericay and Wickford.
The goal is to tackle issues that are at the forefront of community policing in the district. And reduce antisocial behaviour and violent crime in the towns. And help protect Essex businesses from crime.
Inspector Cathy Calder from the Castle Point and Rochford Community Policing Team said:
“By our officers being more visible, we’ll be able to collect an informed picture of what’s going on locally and continue to interrogate the issues that are causing the most harm to our local communities, and put a stop to it.”
