When Romford mum, Georgia, was 8 months pregnant, sleeping had become a real problem. But it meant she was awake in the small hours of Saturday when she heard the unusual noise downstairs

She sat upright as quickly as she could from amongst all the supporting pillows.

There was no doubt about it. She could hear something moving in the house below her.

Her husband was away and her older toddler was asleep in his brand new “big boy” bed in the room next door…

SCENARIO 1

Mumma rage kicked in. She had visions of plodding down the stairs in her nightie and trying to find a knife or a golf club to confront the intruder!

In reality, she knew her large belly would make it almost impossible to wield either of those instruments.

And the chances of her being able to make that journey without any noise were tiny. And then who knew what danger she’d actually be facing?

Her only option was to use her mobile to call the Police. But this was Romford on a Friday night, they’d be busy with the pubs and clubs! She could only hope they’d have someone available to come quickly…

SCENARIO 2

Fortunately, Georgia knew exactly what to do.

She reached for her phone on the bedside table and accessed the CCTV app.

Finding the right camera, she was able to see…

her cat had managed to climb onto the top of the dresser to get to the chocolate treats she had hidden up there.

By knocking those onto the floor, a couple of books had also fallen down.

No need to panic. But she would move those treats in the morning!

SCENARIO 3

As she lay there trying to go to sleep, Georgia had no idea that a burglar had been casing her property.

Approaching in the darkness, he had suddenly noticed the bellbox, activated the external security lights and had his picture added to her CCTV footage before he even saw the camera.

The noise she heard was the gravel spraying up from his shoes as he ran away…
